Senior/Principal Scientist, Oncology

Calico is inviting applications from exceptional scientists who wish to contribute to our efforts in identifying, validating, and prosecuting therapeutic targets in cancer. The selected candidate will help devise and conduct innovative target discovery approaches, validate hits, and explore mechanistic biology relating to several areas of focus including novel tumor-specific vulnerabilities and synthetic lethality. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues at Calico to enable and drive drug discovery programs for those targets.

Position Requirements:

• Ph.D. and at least 5+ years postdoctoral training and/or industry experience in a field related to cell, molecular, or chemical biology
• Track record of strong research productivity in cancer related biology, as well as previous involvement in drug discovery activities
• Significant prior experience with mammalian cell culture, CRISPR technology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology
• Competency in bioinformatic analysis of large datasets including -omic analyses is also a significant plus
• Enthusiastic team player, thrives on attention to detail and has excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Must be willing to work onsite five days a week

The estimated base salary range for this role is $166,000 – $214,000. Actual pay will be based on a number of factors including experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for two annual cash bonuses.
