Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and develop new nutraceutical ingredients and product concepts
  • Critically evaluate clinical research including biostatistical analysis.
  • Assess new product opportunities to determine safety, efficacy, viability, dosage, regulatory compliance, and scientific validation
  • Present critical scientific reviews and write technical support documents for specific ingredients and product formulations
  • Establish and foster relationships with ingredient and technology suppliers
  • Research competition and stay abreast of industry developments and trends.
  • Collaborate with key internal partners to source ingredients for new formulas
  • Review internal documents for consistency and scientific accuracy (ads, articles, all marketing pieces, product directory, etc.)
  • Research and respond to elevated member issues involving product and ingredient questions/concerns; provide timely responses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Marketing, Magazine, Scientific Affairs, Business Development, Legal, Customer Service, Purchasing, and QA/QC as appropriate
  • Create product concept presentations; formally present to executive/ownership level
  • Provide source documents and interpretation to magazine team to form the background and basis of product articles
  • Limited travel as needed
  • 2 onsite days per week is an essential function of this position
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Nutritional Science, Medical Science or related field
  • Experience in in the development and interpretation of interventional clinical studies including biostatistical analysis desired
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Dietary supplement and product development experience a plus
