We are seeking an ambitious scientist with a deep background in immunology, focusing on T cell biology. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in analyzing immune responses in mouse models of age-related diseases, such as lung fibrosis (bleomycin-induced IPF model) and metabolic disorders (diet-induced obesity).
Please note that this position is a lab based role and an on-site role.
Qualifications:
This role requires an independent scientist with excellent communication skills, a passion for exploring the immune system, and a commitment to advancing knowledge in the development of immune-based therapies to treat age-related diseases.
- PhD in immunology required and experience in biotech is highly preferred.
- Expertise in developing and executing in vivo animal models, adjuvant development or age-related diseases experience preferred (e.g., fibrosis, metabolic disorders).
- Highly skilled in mouse handling and administering therapies via different routes, including IV, IP, intratracheal, intranasal, and ex vivo tissue processing for downstream cellular phenotypic and functional analyses.
- Extensive experience in developing and applying different approaches to interrogate the mechanism of action of immune therapies, including multi-dimensional immune cell phenotyping flow cytometry, in vitro and ex vivo assays to assess T-cell cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine production, and other immune functions.
- Highly proficient in analyzing & interpreting high-dimensional flow cytometry data.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets clearly and concisely to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in leading and organizing a team of junior scientists and research associates.
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate with peers within a fast-paced team environment with a positive outlook and a high degree of self-motivation and organization.
Responsibilities
- Establish and apply multiple mouse models of age-related diseases (bleomycin-induced fibrosis and HFD-induced T2D) to investigate the efficacy and MOA of novel immunotherapies.
- Design, develop, and execute a wide range of in vitro and ex vivo cellular characterization assays. This includes using multi-color flow cytometry to evaluate mechanisms of iNKT cell activity and its impact on different immune cell populations. A strong competency with multi-color flow panel design and optimization is preferred.
- Drive scientific and technical innovation, working collaboratively and proactively with colleagues.
- Provide exceptional scientific leadership and mentorship to scientists and research associates.
- Summarize, synthesize, and interpret data across experiments and present findings at all levels of the organization.
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary, stock options commensurate with experience, and health benefits. In addition, we provide a monthly activity stipend to support outside personal interests.
